Heavy and oversized transport is one of the most complex parts of road logistics.
A single transport can involve permits, route restrictions, escorts, police coordination, loading requirements, border procedures, special parking, infrastructure limits, vehicle configuration, documents and several different companies.
In practice, these elements are often handled across separate systems, emails, phone calls, spreadsheets, messaging apps and local portals.
That fragmentation creates unnecessary work.
Important information can be difficult to find, easy to misunderstand and hard to keep up to date. A small change on a bridge, a permit condition or a route restriction can have a major effect on the execution of a transport.
DAJC was created from this operational reality.
The idea is simple: heavy and oversized transport should not have to rely on disconnected information and fragmented coordination.
DAJC is being developed as a connected digital environment for European heavy and oversized transport - bringing together the people, information, documents and services that are needed to plan and execute a transport.
The goal is not to create another freight marketplace or another layer between the customer and the transport company.
The goal is better coordination.
A transport should remain understandable from planning through execution and delivery, with the relevant participants able to work with the information they actually need.
DAJC is being built gradually.
Rather than presenting unfinished ideas as finished products, the platform is being developed step by step around real operational needs. New capabilities, data connections and integrations are added only when they are technically and operationally ready.
The same principle applies to the DAJC Integration Ecosystem. Services, data providers and infrastructure connections will be described according to their real status, and individual providers will only be publicly identified when their public listing has been appropriately confirmed.
DAJC is also expanding its focus on transport intelligence.
European heavy transport depends heavily on changing road conditions, permit rules, driving restrictions, escort requirements and infrastructure limitations. Making this information easier to monitor and use is an important part of the broader DAJC direction.
This is also why DAJC is launching the EU Oversize Weekly - a regular overview of important changes affecting heavy and oversized road transport across Europe.
DAJC is still evolving.
But the direction remains the same:
connect the transport, the participants and the information around one operational workflow - and make heavy and oversized transport across Europe easier to coordinate.
