EU Oversize Weekly: 21–27 September 2026

Verified operational changes for heavy, abnormal and exceptional road transport in Europe for 21–27 September 2026.

Executive summary

This edition covers 21–27 September 2026 and contains only changes that could be verified as operationally relevant to heavy, abnormal or exceptional road transport. Routine national or Sunday Driving/Truck Bans are intentionally excluded because DAJC maintains them separately.

Wider Central Europe

Germany — A7 / AK Rendsburg traffic layout changes on 24 September

What changed: The A7 Rader Hochbrücke project moves into a new traffic phase at the Rendsburg interchange. On 24 September 2026, the entry ramp from the A210 coming from Kiel to the A7 toward Flensburg is closed and traffic is routed via U9. From 24 September, a new two-lane traffic layout applies in each direction.

Where: A7 / A210, Autobahnkreuz Rendsburg, Germany
When: 24 September 2026; the construction phase continues beyond the week
Why it matters for heavy/oversize: Autobahn GmbH explicitly flags Großraum- und Schwertransport (GST) users and directs them to the current clearance information for the route.

Operator action: Re-check the approved GST route and current clear widths before dispatch; do not assume an earlier route assessment remains valid after the 24 September layout change.

Croatia — A1 Bisko: repeated short traffic stops for exceptional transport

What changed: HAK reports repeated temporary traffic stoppages at the Bisko interchange because of exceptional-transport movements.

Where: A1 Zagreb–Split–Dubrovnik, Bisko interchange, both directions
When: Through 30 September 2026, during 22:00–05:00
Operational effect: Traffic can be stopped repeatedly for up to 15 minutes while exceptional transport is handled.

Operator action: Build short holding time into night movements on the A1 and verify HAK immediately before departure.

Croatia — A3 Okučani: exceptional-transport traffic stops continue through 24 September

What changed: HAK reports temporary stoppages in the Okučani interchange zone for an exceptional transport leaving the motorway.

Where: A3 Bregana–Lipovac, Okučani interchange, both directions
When: 15–24 September 2026, during 23:00–05:00
Operational effect: Traffic may be stopped for up to 15 minutes for the exceptional-transport manoeuvre.

Operator action: For movements through Okučani on 21–24 September, verify the current HAK status and allow a timing margin around the night window.

Western Europe and connected corridors

France — RD1006 Maurienne: 48 t / 3 m limit starts 21 September

What changed: The exceptional-convoy traffic regime at Pont Ravoire changes on 21 September. After the preceding closure phase, the route reopens only to vehicles within the temporary limits.

Where: RD1006, Pont Ravoire / Maurienne corridor, France
When: 21 September–12 October 2026
Limit: 48 tonnes maximum and 3.0 m maximum width for the affected traffic regime.

Operator action: Any convoy above 48 t or 3.0 m must not rely on this section; re-check the authorised route and arrange an alternative before dispatch.

Belgium — Antwerp R1 / Oosterweel: severe exceptional-transport constraints during the conversion week

What changed: The official exceptional-transport roadworks notice was updated on 15 September for the R1 works around Antwerpen-Oost, Antwerpen-Noord and exit 2 Deurne. During the conversion period, lane availability and closures materially reduce usable width; local detours are not suitable for exceptional transport.

Where: R1 Antwerp Ring, including exit 2 Deurne and connections around Antwerpen-Oost / Antwerpen-Noord
When: Relevant restrictions continue during 21–25 September 2026
Width rule in the works zone: Where two lanes remain available, transport wider than 6 m is not allowed; where only one lane remains available, transport wider than 3 m is not allowed.

Operator action: Avoid the works zone where possible. If passage is unavoidable, check the lane configuration for the exact movement time and request an alternative authorised route early; do not use local detours without explicit approval.

Belgium — Antwerp port N180: daytime width limited to 3.5 m from 21 September

What changed: A new works phase starts on the N180 Noorderlaan in the port of Antwerp.

Where: N180 Noorderlaan, between Muisbroeklaan and Ordamstraat, direction Antwerp
When: From 21 September 2026 to approximately mid-December 2026
Width rule: Between 05:00 and 23:00, maximum permitted width through the works is 3.5 m. Wider exceptional transport can pass only between 23:00 and 05:00.

Operator action: Schedule >3.5 m movements inside the night window or obtain an alternative authorised route before dispatch.

Belgium — Antwerp port Scheldelaan / Kruisschansweg: route regime changes on 27 September

What changed: The current phase on Scheldelaan runs through 26 September; from 27 September to 20 November, works move to Kruisschansweg between Scheldelaan and Van Cauwelaertbrug. The authority states that freight traffic is not allowed there and the sluice passages cannot be used during that phase.

Where: Antwerp port, Scheldelaan / N101b Kruisschansweg
When: Transition on 27 September 2026
Current exceptional-transport constraint: When traffic is carried 2×1 on one side of Scheldelaan, width is limited to 3.5 m between 05:00 and 23:00; wider exceptional transport is allowed only 23:00–05:00.

Operator action: Movements planned from 27 September must be re-routed and, where required, covered by a new route permit before entering the affected port corridor.

Belgium — Machelen A1/E19: difficult or impossible exceptional-transport passage until 26 September

What changed: The connecting loop from the A1/E19 to the R0 inner ring remains restricted by bridge and road-deck works through the end of the target week.

Where: A1/E19 → R0 inner ring, Machelen
When: Through 26 September 2026
Operational effect: The official exceptional-transport notice says passage is difficult to impossible. The temporary second traffic route is not suitable for exceptional transport, and the A12/R0 route over the Vilvoorde viaduct is also not a general alternative for wide exceptional transport.

Operator action: Do not dispatch a wide movement on the assumption that the signed general-traffic diversion is usable. Re-check the authorised exceptional-transport route and request an alternative if necessary.

Belgium — N78/N79 Riemst: restricted space for large exceptional transports

What changed: The third and final works phase started on 14 September and remains active into early October. Traffic alternates through the work zone under temporary signals, but the authority warns that space for large transports remains limited.

Where: N78 × N79, Riemst
When: 14 September–early October 2026
Operational effect: Restricted manoeuvring space for large exceptional transports through the work zone.

Operator action: Verify route feasibility against the actual combination dimensions before movement and arrange an alternative route if the permitted envelope cannot be maintained.
